Photonics Talks at Optatec 2026 Bring Pioneers and Experts Together

The next Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems will once again bring together large numbers of optics fans from diverse industries and numerous countries at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre from the 5th through the 7th of May, 2026. As part of a strategic partnership with SPIE/Optics.org, the “Photonics Talks” event format provides a platform for pioneers and experts across the entire photonics supply chain to promote innovation in various areas.
Trade fair promoters P. E. Schall, organisers of the Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems, are entering into a strategic partnership with optics.org in order to shape the future of optical manufacturing at Optatec 2026. optics.org is a digital platform for photonics experts from the international SPIE organisation and an important source of information for the photonics community. Within the scope of this collaboration, optics.org will be hosting the Photonics Talks at Optatec 2026 in Frankfurt from the 5th through the 7th of May, 2026. The event will feature two days of world-class industry presentations and expert discussions. The programme will focus on the development of optical manufacturing and emerging global markets, as well as the technological and manufacturing challenges expected in the next decade.
The Photonics Talks will bring together pioneers from across the entire photonics supply chain. They provide innovative thinkers with a platform for discussing the latest breakthroughs and advancing innovations in automotive sensor technology, medical imaging, semiconductor manufacturing and defence applications. “Photonics technologies are rapidly transforming numerous industries – from autonomous mobility and precision medicine to microelectronics and aerospace. And thus the Optatec trade fair held by Schall trade fair promoters provides an important forum for collaboration,” says Rob Fisher, head of sales and marketing at optics.org. “We’re delighted to bring industry leaders together in order to provide insights into new manufacturing processes, market trends and strategic innovations which will be necessary to meet the demands of next generation technologies.”
Industry Leaders Discuss Next Generation Technologies
“We’re very pleased with our collaboration with optics.org and we’re looking forward to the 2026 Photonics Talks,” says Fabian Krüger, Optatec project manager at trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. This partnership underscores optics.org’s commitment to advancing the global photonics community by bringing together decision-makers, engineers and innovators, who are shaping the future of optical manufacturing. As a key technology for Germany, photonics supplies essential components and systems to other future-oriented industries. The strong focus on research and innovation is generating new solutions which will help to overcome today’s and tomorrow’s ecological, economic, social and technological challenges.
Optatec, with its leading trade fair character in the field of optical technologies and photonics, is known around the world as an exclusive industry gathering for this highly specialised discipline. With its specific offering for the development, production and implementation of photonics, Optatec 2026 is the ideal venue for this exchange amongst experts. The highly specialised 3-day technical event brings together international experts, manufacturers and users of optotechnology, precision optics, photonics and image processing at the traditional trade fair venue in Frankfurt. Optical technologies unite engineering sciences with natural sciences and bridge the gap between fundamental physics research and technical applications. “The 17th edition of Optatec will once again present the multi-industry subject matter of optics and photonics in an interesting, relevant and professional manner,” promises Fabian Krüger. The 2-day Photonic Talks will serve as an effective platform for gathering information, exchanging expertise and networking. Already today, we would like to invite exhibitors and expert visitors to this exciting industry event of global significance in Frankfurt from the 5th through the 7th of May, 2026.
