Workplace for cementing and adjusting small lenses, Aspheres and cemented optics.

With a newly developed alignment and cementing station, HOFBAUER OPTIK expands its portfolio in the field of high-precision assembly and alignment of optical components. The system is specifically designed for accurate positioning and cementing of small lenses and aspheres on mandrels, as well as for the fabrication of achromats and complex compound lens systems.

At its core is the combination of mechanically stable fixturing, high-resolution optical control, and experience-driven alignment procedures. This enables targeted correction of decenter and tilt errors, reducing them to sub-micron and sub-arcminute levels. Such precision is essential for modern high-performance optics, where even minimal deviations can significantly impact image quality, Strehl ratio, and beam propagation.

The station allows reproducible alignment of individual optical elements to defined mechanical references such as mandrels or mounts, as well as low-stress cementing of multiple elements into achromats or more complex assemblies. Particular emphasis is placed on minimizing decenter, wedge errors, and internal stresses within the cemented interface.

Typical applications include laser optics, medical technology, optical metrology, as well as LIDAR and semiconductor inspection systems. The alignment and cementing station is suitable for both prototyping and small-series production, bridging the gap between highly precise manual alignment and reproducible manufacturing processes.

With this development, HOFBAUER OPTIK combines traditional optical alignment expertise with advanced metrology, establishing a foundation for maximum precision in optical system integration.
