ELCOMAT® 5000 - Proven Technology Meets Larger Measuring Range and 10x Higher Measuring Frequency

Electronic autocollimators are highly precise optical angle measurement instruments. They are used for the measurement of the most minuet angle variations as well as angle adjustments of mirrors and other optical components. This makes them ideal for angular position monitoring or adjustment of reflectors in the optical, laser and semiconductor industries. They are also widely used in mechanical engineering to measure the straightness/parallelism of machine beds, to measure the pitch and yaw movements of machine axes, and to determine the position uncertainty of rotary and index tables.
The new electronic autocollimator ELCOMAT® 5000 of Möller-Wedel Optical GmbH combines the best of the internationally renowned ELCOMAT® 3000 with a totally new hard- and software design. Due to a direct digital signal conversion in the sensor head the signal to noise ratio has been significantly improved. In comparison to ELCOMAT® 3000, the ELCOMAT® 5000 is characterized by a tenfold increased measuring frequency and wider dynamic range (measuring range/ measurement uncertainty). An integrated alignment aid allows a simple, fast and precise adjustment of the autocollimator. The ELCOMAT® 5000 enables an ease of handling even for non-specialized skilled employees.
The ELCOMAT® 5000 consists of a sensor head and an intelligent display unit. Thus, the autocollimator can be operated independently without a PC/Notebook.
The straightness measurement software has been integrated into the display unit, which allows for an easy and fast “on-the-fly” measurement. In particular, during the production process of guideways a significant amount of time is saved.
