Enthusiastic Mood for Future Technologies at Optatec 2018

Innovative Industry Meet for Optical Technologies

The Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems scored high ratings during its three days in mid-May with technical innovations from all fields of photonics. The increased significance enjoyed by this leading trade fair was demonstrated once again this year by renewed growth in the numbers of top international visitors.

Worldwide Offerings for Optical Technologies at Optatec

With 540 exhibitors from 32 nations and 5803 visitors from 45 countries, internationalism was increased again at Optatec 2018 which thus presented worldwide offerings for products, standalone and system solutions, as well as innumerable applications from the broad-ranging field of optical technology as a major industry event. Optical components, optomechanics, fibre-optics, laser components, coating technologies and above all photonics as a key technology were represented here to just as great an extent as systems for additive manufacturing, industrial image processing and optical measuring technology.

World Class Optical Technologies

“Never before have so many experts, manufacturers and users come together at a single platform at this level of internationalism in this combination”, says project manager Fabian Krüger. Optatec’s concept and its constant further development are paying off. High-calibre expert visitors with decision-making competence meet up here with specialists from various fields and concentrated, future-oriented offerings. Investment decisions can be taken more quickly and in a more targeted fashion as a result. The positive, optimistic mood, which was already apparent amongst exhibitors as well as visitors shortly after the trade fair opened, persisted for the entire duration of the event. This was certainly also due to the fact that many visitors spent more than average amounts of time at the trade fair not only to establish intensive trade fair contacts, but rather to experience the “Optical Systems Design Conference” as well, held by SPIE Europe for the first time with numerous internationally renowned experts. The exhibitor forum with roughly 1200 participants, the SPECTARIS workshops and the “Training and Research Technology Park” were also very well attended.

Entirely Satisfied Visitors and Exhibitors at Optatec 2018

Once again this year, more than just scientific knowledge and practical applications were demonstrated at their highest levels. Partnerships were entered into, knowledge was imported and orders were placed. The event’s collaboration partners also indicated that they were more than satisfied with the quality of the trade fair. And thus long-standing participants as well as first-time exhibitors indicated directly on-site that they were inclined to participate again at the upcoming Optatec from the 12th through the 14th of May, 2020.
